BYD calls for Chinese automotive unity, 'demolish the old legends' ( $BYDDY $BYDDF )

"I feel proud for China’s auto industry!" said William Li, CEO of Nio. ( $NIO )

"Salute to BYD!" said Li Xiang, CEO of Li Auto. "Let's give a thumbs up to every participant in the new energy era!" ( $LI )

During its Wednesday event, BYD aired a video commemorating the establishment of twelve competitors, ranging from state-affiliated FAW Group in 1956 to more recent EV startups like Xpeng ( #XPENG ), Nio ( #NIO ), and Li Auto ( #LIAUTO ) over the past decade. The video showcases historical clips, expansive landscapes, and vehicles being prepared for export.

"Our stories are different from each other but share the same direction," the narrator says. "There's no distinction between 'you' and 'me'."

The video ends with a call for China's automakers to "demolish the old legends and achieve new world-class brands," under the slogan, "Chinese Autos".

That message is in Chinese language. Its tone sounds like Chinese nationalism. So I think the targets of the message is Chinese people.

2)
"Demolish"? It is too much!

To me, it sounds like BYD against the world or BYD making the WWIII. Despite the word "byd" means "world" in the Welsh language.

People around the world, and me too, will protect the old legends. They are not far-left like that.
Not just Polyphony Digital company in Japan (Gran Turismo games) that is pretecting Japanese automotives.

When the Gran Turismo 7 game update adding a "GAC" car with more than 1,000 horsepowers, it is not Guangzhou Automobile Company Aion Hyper SSR, but it is a Greening Auto Company Maverick.

In my opinion, Chinese automotives are also have very few roles in the motorsport world. To conquer the world car markets, I think they should have more motorsport roles.

In my opinion, recently, Toyota has very strong motorsport images, including the GR and TRD divisions.

And they should partnering with famous video games, especially the car racing genre, to add their cars into the games.

Unfortunately, maybe only Liyue game company knows how good Liyue cars are.

That message call on FAW, Dongfeng, Changan, SAIC, GAC, Chery, Geely, GWM, and the modern big three Xpeng, Nio and Li Auto.

I think JAC, Brilliance, Neta, and some companies can ask BYD "Am I a joke to you?"

Harakiri - Who KILLED the Japanese Car Industry? (It starts with a "C")

h0ngcom:
My "C" answers are different from this.

It is "some countries and some continents" that banning the sales of new diesel and gasoline cars in the near future.

I think most consumers are not anti or avoid Japanese products. Even EV consumers still waiting for Japanese EVs. So I think my previous answer "some consumers" is not correct.

Conservatism people? I don't think so. I think they opposed to EVs, so they preferred fuel cars.

China? No. Most people don't want Chinese products.

Corruption? I think Japan is less corruption than many countries.
