THIS Is Why The Wave of Chinese EVs Is Unstoppable!
H0ngcom:
Not at all. I think in Australia it is still stoppable. Now Tesla is still the winner in the Australian EV market.
I think there are three things that can stop it: 1. Protectionist trade policies 2. anti EVs sentiments/attitudes 3. anti Chinese products sentiments/attitudes
In Thailand, it is more difficult to stop, since Japanese EVs are still not commonly available.
"It is not that we drive Japanese cars because we love fuel cars, but it is that we drive fuel cars because we love Japanese cars." H0ngcom said.
It seems to "stopped" or "not yet started" in Japan.
According to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgaWEzpYfls , only 1446 BYD cars sold in Japan in 2023. The video also said "two-thirds of which are purchased by Japanese" (I think that means one-third of BYD cars are bought by foreigners).
Much less than BYD Germany, 4139 units sold in Germany in 2023, according to some sources. Compared to BYD Thailand, 30650 units sold in 2023.
